Wintertime usually brings the arrival of twinkling lights, fun festivities, and time well spent with friends and family. But transitioning into a new year can also be a challenge, especially in terms of your schedule and planning.
For a lot of us, this time of year also can make it feel like all of our projects and goals are coming down at the same time. We’ll want to have the right tools to help us make it through to ring in the new year with our current plans intact, setting us up for new ideas in the year ahead.
That’s part of why Momentum was designed with calm technology in mind, to keep you from getting overwhelmed. Even if unpredictable weather creeps up along the way ❄️ you’ll be able to easily drag and drop your tasks and projects throughout the app to reorganize your time effectively.
Here are some simple tips we hope will help you make it through your wintertime planning, with inspiration from some of our Momentum basics:
- Have some TEA. Ultimately we can’t do everything. But we can try to get the most out of the TEA (Time, Energy, and Attention) we have to give, especially as one year closes and another begins. It’s better to focus on completing a few tasks or projects properly, and to a high standard, than allowing yourself to get overwhelmed. It’s all about how you take your TEA ☕.
- Prioritize planning over projects. You may think you need to increase the amount of tasks, projects, and more, to make it through what is often a very chaotic time period. But you’ll actually benefit more from doubling down on planning, to help take things off your plate. It’s all about the way you prioritize, which is a great skill to master any time of year.
- Archive what’s not relevant. For those projects that can wait for next year (literally — 2023 will be here before you know it 🕜), file them away where you can easily find them later. If you’re using our Momentum app, we make this easy for you with a few of these time management features.
We discussed some of these tactics in our December Monthly Planning webinar, which you can watch here. We’ll be hosting more Monthly Planning webinars throughout the year, and if you’re interested in attending them, let us know with a quick note!
So bravely assemble your most important projects, archive the others, and start going from idea to done.
